I won this adorable little tea cup mouse from Fun in the Making. Thanks!
Not a whole lot of exciting things to report. I went walking with Dawn D on Wednesday. On Friday a group of us went out to eat and we saw Leap Year. It was a cute movie, but I don't think that Gabe is disappointed that he missed it. Yesterday Katie and I went to see Legally Blonde. It was fun. I really need to work on picking up our house. Somehow our kitchen isn't really organized right now. I am not sure what happened. Oh well, it is an easy fix.
Don't miss the entry on Alex's Plate and our Illinois travels, parts 1 and 2.
Happy birthday Grandma!

On Tuesday we went to the Lakeview Museum of Arts & Sciences. There were a lot of interesting pieces of art. Alex had a fun time playing in the science section.
After the museum, we headed out to the Luthy Botanical Garden.
On Wednesday Alex and I went to my parent's house. Gabe's parents met my Dad half way and Alex and I switched cars.
Alex liked playing the piano.
On Saturday morning we left early to catch our flight back.
We are back in Arizona and now we have to unpack!
Happy Birthday Maddie!

We spent Friday getting ready for getting ready for my Southern Living at Home Party and getting ready for our trip to Illinois.
We left for the airport at 5:30 a.m. on Saturday morning and by the time we made it through security and the security check for all of my liquids for Alex we walked to the gate right after our group had been called. Alex was okay on the flight. We received comments on how great he was. We had lunch at Pancho's and we stopped by my old place of work before heading to Gabe's parent's house.
Alex and a suitcase at the airport.
Yesterday we all went out to a German Restaurant for dinner to celebrate Gabe's birthday. Today Gabe's sister and I made cookies. Okay, we were both supposed to make cookies, but it ended up with his sister making the cookies and I held Alex the entire time. Tonight we celebrated both Gabe's sister and Gabe's dad's birthdays. I will be heading to my parent's house soon. Alex will be going with me and Gabe will be staying so he can work the rest of the week.
On a side note, I think that Alex misses the 70's.
Here is Alex's plate. I love it! Now I just need to find a way to display it in our house.
You can take a look at the plate before the glazing and firing here.
We have been busy preparing for an upcoming trip and getting ready for a party. I am having a Southern Living at Home party tomorrow. A few people are coming over and while looking at all of the products we will be munching on yummy desserts. I am also making a veggie tray since some people may have new year's resolutions to cut out sweets (I am NOT one of those people).
Last night we went to the store and I managed to take a picture of Alex pushing the shopping cart. He has been doing it for a little while, but this is the first time that I thought to take a picture. We only let him push the cart if the store isn't busy. I guess I should look into purchasing a toy cart for him.
He is pushing the cart though he is hard to see in this picture.
Sometimes he likes to push the cart from the side (I think he can see a little better this way).
I finished reading I, Alex Cross and Alex Cross's Trial. That knocks off numbers 14 and 17 off of my New Year's Resolution list. I really enjoyed I, Alex Cross. It was the typical book from the Alex Cross series. Alex Cross's Trial was good, but it was not at all what I was expecting. For some reason I thought it was going to be another book in Alex Cross series, but I was wrong.
Gabe and I managed to watch a few movies while he was off from work. My favorite was Star Trek. I would even recommend it to someone that is not a fan of the series or other movies (I did not like the series). We also watched Coraline, Duplicity, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Funny People, and Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian.
I will post a picture of Alex's plate either later on today or tomorrow. I am getting ready to go pick it up soon.

We have been hanging out relaxing the past few days. A couple of days ago, Gabe and I attempted to take the Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Group (AMARG) tour, but apparently you have to get there at the crack of dawn to get tickets. Okay, not really the crack of dawn, but you do need to be there right when the Pima Air and Space Museum opens. The AMARG tour is a guided tour of the aircraft storage facility on the Army base.
So, instead of the AMARG tour, we each went for a much needed haircut and I went for my very fun shots. Speaking of fun stuff, Alex went to the dentist for the first time on the 28th. Everything was fine, but he didn't really enjoy the visit. I guess one good thing about the screaming was the dentist could see all of his teeth.
We decided to go to the AMARG tour on New Year's Eve Day. It was a lot of fun. I really liked the fun facts that the guide gave us about the planes during the tour. There are close to 5,000 planes, so he gave us the spiel about the more interesting planes.
After the tour, we went to Color Me Mine and Alex had a blast painting a plate.
He likes to get his own paint with the paintbrush.
He also likes to paint with a paintbrush in each hand.
Here is his plate before glazing and firing (The "Alex" was done by me). I will post a picture once I pick it up from the studio.
We stayed home for New Year's Eve. Alex went to bed and Gabe and I watched the ball drop in New York. This year we decided to eat a grape with each stroke of the clock. We don't have any clocks that chime, so we just ate the grapes quickly.
Alex a few moments after midnight. You can check out his picture from last year here.
We had Belgium Waffles for breakfast on the first and Gabe opened his presents. The mini-Alex for his desk was my favorite.
Alex enjoying a waffle.

Mini-Alex.
I purchased the mini-Alex photo sculpture from Zazzle. I think it will make a cute addition to his desk at work and it is definitely different from a picture in a frame. I also ordered and ornament in the same design. I really love them both. I will definitely order them again once Alex is a little older. A family picture would be cute too.
Happy Birthday Gabe!
