This Past Week

My posts have been lacking this week, but not much has happened. Basically, we worked. We have been watching the third season of Grey's anatomy. At this point we aren't even half way through. We watched Risky Business, with the pre-creepy Tom Cruise. I still can't look at him the same way after all of his shenanigans surrounding his religion and Katie Holmes. I also watched Catch and Release. It reminded me a lot of the book P.S. I Love You. In Catch and Release, Jennifer Garner is dealing with the loss of her fiance. Their roommates serve as her support group. We are about to watch Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. Yep, that has been our wild and crazy life this past week.

500th Entry

This is my 500th entry! Woo hoo!
Thursday Gabe and I went to my parent's house to pick up the dogs. There was major flooding going on in Southern Illinois. A lot of the road were closed off and water was up to the roofs of some buildings. Cars were completely submerged. Apparently the water came so quickly that people didn't have time to move their cars. People were being evacuated in boats. My town was not affected too much. Some roads were covered in my town, but I think that most houses were fine. My town had the only open grocery store, so they were busing people to the store in my town to buy food.
Because I had to work on Saturday, our visit had be cut short. So, we had Easter dinner on Thursday. I also dyed Easter eggs Thursday and I managed to talk Gabe into helping a little.
We came back from 70 degree weather to snow. I think that the dogs wanted to go back.
We finished watching the second season of Grey's Anatomy. We are now on the second episode of the third season. We have also watched a couple of movies. My Super Ex-Girlfriend is about a guy that is dating a neurotic super hero. It was not as funny as I had hoped. We watched How to Eat Fried Worms. It was a cute movie. Today we watched I Know Who Killed Me. There is a killer preying on young girls. One of the girls is found alive and she claims that she is not the girl they claim she is. Definitely not the movie that I expected. There were some odd plot twists.
I am still working on placing our Spain pictures together in a book. I am hoping to get it done this week. I wanted to have it all finished by the time we went to get the dogs, but that just didn't happen. I am also in the process of making our April menu. I need 10 more dinners and then I can start making the grocery lists for the month.

American Idol Results

Gabe and I are watching American Idol. I did not care for Amanda's performance. It wasn't bad, but she seems the same each week. Kristy was Kristy. I look for her to go home very soon. David A. Is a favorite of mine, but this week he was just ok. I really liked Michael and this week he was just ok. I thought that the judges were a little hard on Brooke. She is one of my favorites too. I was not a big fan of David Cook in the beginning, but he is really growing on me. I think that Carly did a great job with her song, but I didn't actually like the song itself. Go little blackbird. Jason has seemed to give good performances week after week. He has really pretty eyes. In the words of Randy (from other performances) I just wasn't feeling Syesha. Chikezie never was on of my favorites, but last week I thought that his performance was stellar. This week was back to the old Chikezie for me (the one that I didn't like). Ramiele's song choice wasn't one of my favorites, but she seemed to have fun performing...much more than last week.
Now on to the results show (we record them and watch the performances and the results on the same night).
On a side note, I am really getting tired of Paula's babbling though she did seem to sober up near the end of the show.
Kristy should have went home and Carly should not have been in the bottom three. At least Carly was "safe".
Last night we watched Dancing with the Stars and Kristi is still my favorite.
We watched License to Wed yesterday. It is about a couple getting ready to get married that must past a series of "tests" played by Robin Williams' character. It was ok, but it was not as funny as I had hoped.
I recently finished reading 7th Heaven by James Patterson. It is part of the women's murder club series. It is a pretty good read, but I would suggest starting with the first book. I also finished Heart Sick by Chelsea Cain. It is about a cop that is tormented by a killer while trying to solve murders.
Well, off to do some laundry.

What American accent do you have?
Your Result: The Midland

"You have a Midland accent" is just another way of saying "you don't have an accent." You probably are from the Midland (Pennsylvania, southern Ohio, southern Indiana, southern Illinois, and Missouri) but then for all we know you could be from Florida or Charleston or one of those big southern cities like Atlanta or Dallas. You have a good voice for TV and radio.

Stil More Grey's

Let's see. I worked on Saturday and Gabe's family stopped by for dinner. We went to Islamorada Fish Company. Afterwards, Gabe and I relaxed at home. Sunday we watched some more Grey's Anatomy. We are still on the second season, but we only have a couple of discs left.
The new season of Dancing with the Stars starts tonight! I have looked over the contestants and right now I think that Kristi Yamaguchi is going to do the best. I do reserve the right to change my opinion based on the upcoming performances. Of course last season I liked Sabrina and she was voted off, so who knows?

A Funny

Ordinarily I have Thursdays off, but the doctor that works on Thursdays was sick again. Guess who worked? I had things planned so I only worked until 2:30 p.m., but it still screws up the day. Oh, well. Now I get to run around today trying to accomplish the rest of my list. Our lives have been pretty boring lately. I get to start my marathon of working soon. The doctor that owns the practice is going to Thailand for two weeks, so I will cover her schedule and mine. At least I will still get Sundays off. Are you wondering where the funny is in all of this?
I know someone who is about 6.5 months pregnant (I am refraining from using her name even though she was okay with it). I will call her O. O was at a ballgame with a friend that has a four year old boy.
Little boy: "O why is your belly so big?"
O: "Why do you think it is so big?"
The little guy just stood there.
Little boy's mom: "Do you think O swallowed a watermelon?"
Little Boy: "No"
O: "There is a baby in there! I am having a baby!"
Little boy, looking up at O: "There is more than one baby in there!"

Today

Yesterday, Gabe and I headed out to Fox Valley mall. Afterwards we hit an outlet mall in Aurora. We didn't buy anything, but it was fun to get out of the house for a while. We came back home and started watching Grey's Anatomy. I think that I am addicted. We are on the 14th episode of the second season, so don't give me any spoilers. Once I get home from work tonight I plan on eating and relaxing. I made the lasagna last night, so Gabe just needs to pop it in the oven. Unfortunately, I don't have my cell phone with me today or I would just call him when I leave and that way it would be ready when I get home. Oh well.

P.S. I hope that everyone is enjoying the pictures.

American Idol

Gabe and I watched American Idol last night. We watched all three episodes from this week. Basically, we record all of them, fast forward through the commercials (or parts of the show we don't want to watch), and watch a weeks worth at a time. It is faster that way and we don't have to wait to see who gets eliminated. Anyway, I pretty convinced that Paula has something other than Coca-Cola in her cup (I am thinking vodka). Her ramblings were even harder to understand than normal and her actions were a little odd. I wonder if we will see her photo on msn under "celebrities in rehab". Okay, now I am singing Rehab.
Yesterday I watched Win a Date with Tad Hamilton while Gabe was at work. It is about a small town girl that wins a date with a celebrity. I wouldn't even call it a renter.
Today I watched In the Land of Women. It is a more serious movie about a guy that has his world torn apart when his girlfriend unexpectedly dumps him. He befriends a lady (with her own personal issues) and her daughters. I don't want to give anymore of the movie away. It was pretty good, but not a movie that I would watch again.
I am not sure what we are going to be doing tonight. Relaxing at home sounds nice.

Pictues Soon

I know, I know, I still haven't posted pictures. My new goal is by Sunday. I have been accomplishing a lot in the mornings, but Gabe is off to work and doesn't have time to show me how to post pictures before leaving. By the time we get home from work we are both really tired. In the evenings we basically eat and hang out on the couch together. We have watched Metro and Alexander recently. They were alright. We are taking Aaron out to dinner tonight at Meson Sabika...yum,yum.

Jet Lag

Jet lag sucks! Saturday we were up at 5:00 a.m. Sunday and today we were up at 4:30 a.m. I just sat in bed this morning until almost 6:00 a.m. Gabe was off to work before 6:00 a.m. Well, I guess it isn't all too bad. At least I can get a few things done before work (like finishing the laundry). Actually, this might work out fine since I usually get home too late to go out and do anything I can just do everything in the morning instead.

Pictures Tomorrow

I *plan* on posting pictures tomorrow. I was going to do it tonight, but I need to sleep.

Happy Birthday!
